Maricel exhibits a complete artistic route from the tenth century to realism, mostly paintings.
Romantic: Tells the Llopis family’s story: how Sitges changed from a fishing village to a modern town.

Palau Maricel: Shows the richness of a town palace. Now also used for concerts und dinners.

Garraf natural park: The hills around Sitges are not only the reason for it’s sunny micro clima, they are also home to many endemic plants. A walk through Garraf’s nature parc allows you to slow down. In the middel of the park some buddist monks discovered this peaceful area for themself. They offer guided tours at the week ends:

An other walk brings you to the Ermita de la trinitat. On a steep rock high abouve the sea, this little church was build to protect the fishermen.

Get there by train, about 1 hour ride

Aqualeon water park and Zoo ½ hour from Sitges. Bus service by reservation.

Like teeth of a giant the picks of Montserrat can by seen from far away. Since centuries there is a monastery on the side of the mountain. Get there by train or car, the last part by cable car.

Catalonia miniature: All the castels, buildings of Gaudi and monuments in a small format close together. 30 minutes by car, very family friendly.

The Penedes wine region is world famous for it’s Cavas (sparkling wines) and white wines. But much more is produced by the wineries only half an hour from Sitges. The bigger ones offer guided tours.

Nowadays the port town of Tarragona has a beautiful old town with it’s shopping rambla. Most famous was Tarraco during the roman ocupation. The UNESCO world heritage incluides the ruins of the amphitheatre the roman historic center and it’s aqueduct nearby.

The combination of beach and mountains, the young generation city live and the historic past can be felt at every step. From Sitges you need about 40 minutes to Barcelona center.
